The BMW 1 Series Lifestyle - available as a 118d or a 120i
First up is the BMW 1 Series Lifestyle, which gets a Marakesh Brown paint job (BMW’s favourite colour it would seem at the moment – the new BMW X1 cars are all showing up in that colour), interior components in matching colour, chrome tipped exhaust and 17″ alloys. The second limited edition is the BMW 1 Series Sport, which gets an M-Sports package (including sports suspension, steering wheel and gearlever), unique double-spoke alloys and stainless steel pedals. Both the 1 Series Limited Editions will be available in either 3 or 5 door versions, and you can have either the 2.0 litre petrol – 170bhp and 0-60mph in 7.8 seconds – or the 2.0 litre diesel – 143bhp and 0-60mph in 9 seconds.
The beautiful Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept looks like it’s a stylised preview of the next Alfa Giulia due in 2015. Debuts at Geneva 2013. But according to Automotive News, the Alfa Gloria is actually a very strong hint at what the new Alfa Giulia will look like when it arrives in 2015 as part of Sergio Marchionne’s plan to revive the Alfa brand and drive sale forward.
The new entry-level, sub-£17k Caterham Seven
If there’s one thing you know about the Caterham Seven – Caterham’s recreation of Colin Chapman’s iconic Lotus Seven – it’s that it’s not b exactly laden with fripperies and heavy technology. So when Caterham tell us that they’re soon going to launch a new, entry-level, Seven that takes the Seven “…back to its simple design roots” we do wonder how much simpler the Seven can be than it already is. But Caterham say the new Seven will be probably the most fuel efficient car they produce with a new EU-6 compliant engine providing accessible fun for ‘under £17k’.
